Codford and district gardening club outing to Exbury gardens on Wednesday 3rd June, 2026 - ‘J’ Claypoole.

On 3rd June we went by coach to Exbury Gardens - the plan was to have lunch and then have a guided tour of the gardens.

Luckily after lunch the sun came out, our guide met us and we wandered around the gardens for nearly two hours!     Our guide, Theo, made our day!     He not only enlightened us with regard to the trees, plants and design of the immense Exbury gardens but also told us so much about the history of the Estate and in particular the wonderful vision and talent of Lionel Rothschild who created the gardens.
We posed in front of Exbury House for a group photo!
