Film night at the Woolstore theatre. This month’s film is ‘H is for Hawk’. Based on the memoir by Helen Macdonald, H is for Hawk follows Helen (Foy), who, after the sudden death of her father (Gleeson), loses herself in the memories of their time birding and exploring the natural world together, and navigates her profound loss by training a wild goshawk named Mabel. But as she teaches Mabel to hunt and fly free, Helen discovers how deeply she has neglected her own emotions and life. What begins as an act of endurance transforms into an intimate journey of resilience and healing.

Monday 11th
Codford annual village meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to give the Parish Council and the Village hall Management committee an opportunity to showcase what they have been doing over the last year. It’s also an opportunity for parishioners to have their say. The meeting is also an opportunity for local groups, societies and organisations.

Tuesday 12th
Codford local history society talk ‘The houses of Fonthill - lost, recovered, rebuilt’. Fonthill’s rich and surprising history, far beyond William Beckford’s dramatic Abbey and its famous collapse, will be explored by cultural historian Dr Caroline Dakers, as she introduces the many Fonthill’s and the remarkable, powerful and sometimes scandalous figures who shaped them.

Wylye Valley farmers river open day. Come along and learn about the river Wylye and the nature that calls it home, plus the restoration and conservation work being done.
