Monday 3rd

Men’s fellowship breakfast with speaker James Bashall, whose talk is entitled ‘The Royal British legion - yesterday and today’, an appropriate talk to be given so close to Remembrance day, and what better a person to deliver it than a past National President of RBL. Beginning his military career in the Parchute Regiment, James retired from the regular army in 2018 with the rank of Lieutenant General after 34 years service, with his final post being that of Commander Home Command. The breakfast costs £15, which £2 will go towards the charity of the speaker’s choice. Please note, this is not a club, but is open to all. Just contact the organisers via the email (uwvmfb@gmail.com), before the preceding Friday at the latest, if you’d like to attend.

The mobile police station will be visiting us. Its a great opportunity for residents to meet their local policing team, discuss any community concerns, and receive advice on crimp prevention and rural safety.

Wednesday 5th

Film night at the Woolstore Theatre. This month’s film is called ‘The salt path’. A couple lose their home and later discover the husband has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, as they embark on a year long coastal trek. Starring Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs. The coastal scenery is spectacular.

Free drama workshops at the Woolstore theatre. Open to adults and young people ( 9 - 90+) wishing to enhance or acquire new skills relating to all aspects of the theatre or just to improve confidence when communicating with other people. For more information visit www.thewoolstoretheatre.co.uk.

Codford and district gardening club meeting and talk titled ‘The historic front garden’. The guest speaker will be Dr. F Burroughs BEM.

Dr. Burroughs is a lecturer and after dinner speaker of some renown and in high demand. From the castles built in the middle ages, to the 1930’s semi’s. The front garden has always provided an area for display and eccentricity. Here is a celebration of some of the most memorable and stunning examples of english gardening

Thursday 20th

Warminster and District NSPCC Christmas fair. Local businesses selling a large selection of gifts for all. NSPCC stalls selling bowls of planted indoor bulbs, homemade cakes, homemade preserves, and bric a brac.

Join us for one of the most anticipated evenings of the year! It’s the annual Codford Tennis club’s curry and quiz night. Expect a delicious homemade curry, lively quiz rounds, and fantastic company—all served with a side of friendly competition. Whether you're a trivia buff or just in it for the food and laughs, this night promises great fun for everyone.

Wiltshire’s royalist up rising of 1655 to restore the monarchy during the Interregnum of republican rule’, with guest speak Ruth Butler, who is Education Officer at Wiltshire and Swindon history centre. All are very welcome. Membership for the year is £10, or for non members its £3 per talk.
