Resurfacing - A36 & A303 Deptford slip roads - update from Wiltshire Council.
We are writing to let you know about essential resurfacing work we're carrying out on the A36 and A303 Deptford slip roads.
This maintenance will improve the road surface and help ensure safer, more reliable journeys for the thousands of drivers who use this route every day.
When it's happening
We'll be working using a combination of overnight and weekend closures to minimise disruption during busy periods. The full scheme will run from Monday 23rd February to Friday 27th March 2025. The work will be done using a combination of lane closures and some full closures which will be as follows:
Full Closures – Mon 23rd February to Monday 3rd March (weeknights only)
Tuesday 4th to Friday 6th March
Diversions
Monday 23rd February to Monday 3rd March traffic heading North on the A36 will be diverted from Wilton along the A360 to Longbarrow roundabout, then follow the A303 through Winterbourne Stoke to rejoin the A303/A36. (Southbound traffic will follow the same route in the opposite direction).
Wednesday 4th to Friday 6th March 2026 – traffic on the A36 heading north will continue along the A303 at Deptford through to the A350 and continue to Crockerton Roundabout to rejoin the A36. (Southbound traffic will follow the same route in the opposite direction).
The remainder of the work will be carried out under land closures with some very short diversions as the work progresses along the slip roads at Deptford, these will be well signposted
Full details are available on our website and will be clearly signposted.
