Improving Safety at the A36 Junction - Ann Levick

After ten weeks of roadworks and an investment of around £900,000 to extend the run‑in from the A36 into Codford, the new layout is designed to give everyone clearer visibility and a safer turning space.

However, we’ve noticed that some drivers are still choosing to turn in at the very last moment rather than using the full extension. When this happens, the improved sightline for those turning right out of the village isn’t fully realised — and that visibility was the very reason for the upgrade.

By using the extended run‑in as intended, we can all help make the junction safer and reduce the risk of accidents. A small change in driving habits makes a big difference for the whole community.
