Codford Village Fete - 28th June - Emma Howe
The weather was with us again for the fete this year and the crowds turned up to enjoy everything that was on offer. The dog show and the donkey rides were as popular as ever, and the tug of war was a really evenly matched contest for the men, women and children. In fact we've never had so many men take part - perhaps we should start a proper team in Codford.
There were loads of lovely stalls selling everything from baked goods and beautiful handmade items to sweets and gin. Bouncy castles, traditional fairground rides, welly wanging, archery and axe throwing gave everyone something to do. When they were hungry from all that activity there was delicious food and refreshing drinks for all to enjoy. DJ Farmski spun the decks and kept us entertained all afternoon and he was over the moon when he won a barrow of booze in the raffle. Cash was raised for local charity organisations (details to follow) but more importantly the fete team put on a great day for the village.
See you next year.
